I was struck by how both offices use time lapse or time lapse–like imagery to reveal steps, or rather, to reveal indecision, almost. For example, the question of where to place the two murals in Frida’s La Tallera Siqueiros project, or the images of Brian and David by the wall at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center – the refusal to rely on a single image is more about revealing the decision-making process, or a refusal to capture something in any sort of finished state.

Architecture League of NY Emerging Voices
January 27, 2017

BLDGS was named a 2017 Emerging Voices Award recipient by the Architectural League of NY.

This award "spotlights individuals and firms with a distinct design ‘voice’ that has the potential to influence the discipline of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design. Since 1982, the juried series has featured architects and designers from throughout North America who have a significant body of realized work that not only represents the best of its kind, but also creatively addresses larger issues of architecture, landscape, and the built environment."

Brian and David will be giving a public lecture on Mar. 2 at 7pm at the SVA Theatre 333 West 23rd St.

AIA Atlanta Silver Medal
September 27, 2016

AIA Atlanta has awarded BLDGS its Silver Medal Award. "The Silver Medal Award is the highest honor bestowed by AIA Atlanta upon an architecture firm for its general excellence. It is open to any firm within AIA Atlanta’s jurisdiction. The award honors a firm, single practitioner up to a large entity, that has sustained outstanding performance as evidenced by a consistently high level of design quality and demonstrated community, political or AIA leadership in the interests of the profession."
